Creative Camera Use
These are screen shots from the footage we shot for our video that I felt were creative.
I feel this image is creative because most shots introduce a character through their face before anything. But we chose to introduce this character through her feet as I feel it is making a social comment on the male gaze which is so often used in television and film as well as music videos but instead of concentrating on the body parts the camera slowly tilts up to the characters face. The camera from then on stays concentrated on the characters faces conveying to the audience that they are important and mean more than just their bodies.
This shot is creative because of the use of a profile view of the character, I feel this makes the shot more interesting for the viewer as it has an element of surprise as this type of shot is not used very often.
I feel this shot is creative because of the varying proximity of the characters to the camera as well as the composition of the characters being slightly off centre making a more interesting shot. But mostly because we decided to film from a low angle, directing the character to sing into the camera, giving a different perspective.
I feel this image is quite creative as the angle is slightly unusual, low angled as well as to the side, I feel this makes for an interesting composition and keeps the viewer interested, especially if this shot is cut in and then cuts back to the main footage on the beat.
